Ariel Waldmann Plays Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 1, First Movement
In this short video, former Musiah student Ariel Waldmann (at age 14) plays the cadenza from Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1.
Congratulations Ariel on a truly beautiful performance. I keep saying this, but it is continually true... I am incredibly proud of you. Well Done!
What is a Cadenza?
In case you are wondering... a cadenza is a virtuoso solo passage inserted into a movement in a concerto or other musical work, typically near the end.
It is a section of the piece that is desgined to allow the soloist to show off their extremly advanced playing skills.
The above video is an excerpt from the original video (scroll down further) in which Ariel plays the entire 1st movement of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1
Ariel's Story
Ariel started learning piano with Musiah at age 6.
In the above video, Ariel's mum shares the incredible story of how Musiah profoundly impacted her son and ignited his passion for piano.
"It has been eight years [since Ariel completed the Musiah piano course], and we think often of Musiah which was the beginning of Ariel's love for the piano.
You have no idea what impact you had on my kid who is now 14 years old.
Just to give you an idea how Musiah impacted him, here is Ariel now, playing the 1st movement of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No 1.
This journey began with Musiah, the inspiration that ignited Ariel’s passion for the piano.
Huge thank you for this amazing software. We are deeply grateful.
Alexandra" (Ariel’s mum)
